Constellation is a tool for visualizing the relationships between individuals and institutions, with a particular emphasis on the field of art history.
The primary objective of this project is to investigate the structural characteristics of the art history by stepping outside of the field and utilizing the methods of social network analysis to reveal the shape of the academic web that forms the theoretical and critical discourse of the field.
The data is manually collected from the departmental websites of universities and colleges, as well as from the curricula vitae of the individuals listed as faculty at those institutions.
