NANO is comprised of nine installations that present different angles of approaching Nanoscience, from quantum secrets of electron wavefunctions to the technology used to access the secrets of the atomic realm, to the social and cultural ramifications and expectations of this pioneering science. The installations whose thematic, metaphoric, and architectural connections spread across the 10,000 sq. ft exhibition space of the Boone Children's Gallery, is located at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
nanobots is a telematic installation inspired by the Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) which allows to manipulate structures on a molecular scale.
Controlled by the visitors, 4 robotic spheres can be moved though a remote space, mimicking gigantic atoms. A birds-eye view of the remote space is projected onto the Atomic Manipulation Table, which allows the visitors to see their actions with the robotic devices as well as people interacting with the spheres in the remote space.
